4th-8th September
4th September 2026 ——————
Mawnan Smith - 1 juvenile Wheatear, 3 Linnet, 2 Swallow overhead, and 1 Buzzard were the pick of a brief amount of time spent in the village.
7th September 2026 ——————
Mawnan Smith - a minimum count of 110 Herring Gulls (probably closer to 300) flew over the village in a northerly direction to roost in the evening.
5 House Martins over were the only migrants noted, in addition to at least 10 Rooks and 1 Buzzard.
Of non-bird excitement was a small Common Toad found in the garden.
8th September 2026 ——————
Mawnan Smith - 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls west in the evening were a first for my recording area, joined by 5 Jackdaw, 4+ Blue Tit, 5 House Martin, 1 Linnet, and 1 Hummingbird Hawkmoth nectaring on the buddleia.
